South Jersey Couponing 101

Hi everyone!  My name is Alee and my friend Jackie and I just started Couponing in the South Jersey area.  We'll be using this blog to help people get started in Couponing, to share our shopping trips and deals, and to share any other ideas to save money!

We started couponing after watching the TLC show "Extreme Couponing".  While we both agree that this show is frustrating and bogus for our area, they do tend to drop a few helpful hints that we can use in this area.

Before we get to specifics, we need to make a few things clear.
*We both shop mostly at Shop Rite in the Atlantic County area of New Jersey.
*Neither of us will buy anything that we will not use, unless we get it for free.  If it is a free item that we do not use, we will donate to the appropriate venue.
*We also do not have CRAZY stockpiles, while Jackie has a bigger family (and house) then I currenty do, neither of us stockpile items to last us for years.  We may stock up on a few months of supplies...if the deal is really good.
*We use internet coupons and coupons clipped from Red Plum or Smart Source.  We DO NOT buy coupons or dumpster dive.  We'll go more into how we get coupons later.
*We use our extra/expired coupons and send them to the military.  My husband is in the Army (we do not live on a base) and we learned that you can send your expired coupons and they can be used for up to 6 months after expiration date on military bases in the U.S. or Overseas.

Please ask us any questions!  We love saving money and we love to share our ideas!!!!!
